My friend, this is the future...

Yes, it is. I never want to say I'm some sort of Luddite. In fact, I started an Internet company, have done much web consulting, and am about to start a job at an Internet model financial services start-up.

HOWEVER, there has to be a basis for reasonable valuation - always. There may be temporary bubbles, and they may make many wealthy, but they will make many more unwealthy. get it while you can, and I wish you luck. Everyone for that matter.

But, to pick the easiest target, what if you bought EBAY at $290 yesterday? Down $50 today. A blip? Or was $290 the blip? What if it's down another $100 tomorrow, and sees $30 by Friday? Not implausible, and perfectly reasonable, on a valuation basis.

EGRP and CMGI are good companies, as is Safeguard, but they are trading beyond any possible value. I'm with you as long as they go up, but they will not always go up.

Good luck,

--John
