REDMOND, Wash. (CBS.MW) -- Ticketmaster Online-CitySearch  shares jumped Tuesday
after the company reported fourth-quarter sales rose 143 percent to $13.6 million.

The provider of local city guides, advertising and live event
ticketing on the Internet (TMCS) said its businesses were boosted
by record online ticket sales in the quarter.

Ticketmaster said that several events, such as the 1998 World
Series, helped raise the percentage of tickets it sold online to 6
percent from 2 percent a year ago.

The company said growth in Web site sales and sponsorship and
advertising on the site also drove sales higher.

City guide sales were lifted by an increase in the monthly price for
new business Web sites sold in the company's owned and
operated markets, according to the company.

The average price rose to $219 in December 1998 from $100 last
December.

User traffic to Ticketmaster Online and CitySearch's Web sites
was also up during the quarter. The company said the number of
users grew 39 percent between August 1998 and October 1998.

In a press release, Tickemaster's CEO Charles Conn said that
through integration and promotion of the company's ticketing services and local city guides, it
expects similar results for online ticket and city guide sales growth in the future.

Shares rose 3 5/8 to 71 1/8.

Ticketmaster Online enables consumers to view  up-to-date information on live entertainment
events and purchase tickets on the Internet.
