Interesting. It looks like Q1 results have only beaten Q4 4 out of the 6 years you show (but we don't know about special charges etc. which may have affected results). I just have a little bit of a bad feeling about this release. The Merrill Lynch report (Kurlak) was bullish on the fact that Intel's Q1 results would not fall because of the surge in e-commerce-spurred buying of PCs. Intel's press release is very clearly trying to tamp down expectations on the quarter. Will have to listen to the CC to get a good read on the situation.

Thanks for the chart.

Doughboy.

Xy,

Thanks for the numbers. I like numbers.

I want to point out the 4Q96 vs 1Q97 story. Notice that 1Q97 was 1.10 vs 1.07 for 4Q97. As they did now, when they reported the 4Q96 number, they said that they expected a flat to down 1Q97.

Nuff said.

Barry
