Hello Skipper;

What I do find interesting in this play is, since the offer from Barrick was made, ARP has traded as high as $5.65 if I have the right number, may have been higher I don't have a chart handy to verify.

Either way, ARP I think has traded mostly in the 5-5.50 range, strikingly similar to the private offer made by ABX.

Now I had heard word that they were not able to buy more than the 10% until the offer was mailed out. This does not make sense to me as it is my understandind that when a company surpasses a threshold ie 10% they must declare their intentions. Well we all know what Barricks intentions are(they declared a hostile takeover)just in case someone missed it, so I can assume that they have continued to buy on the open market.

Some say that when they get to the next threshold, ie 20% they must declare again?? I question this part as, once a company has declared they are in a hostile takeover, the percentages of ownership do not have to be declared..............Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I had hoped to follow the actual trades more closely, but time would not allow it.

Would there be restrictions on Trizec Haghn purchasing as well, they could easily buy up to 9.9% as well on the open??.....and be friendly to ABX??

Last quote I got to-day was around $4.80, sure looks like this is slipping away slowly??

Just wondering out loud here??....................any thoughts??

With regards,Frank
