Last split was 2:1 on 7/14/97, a day ahead of the 1997 Q2 earnings report. That split was actually announced with the 1996 Q4 earnings on 1/14/97, at which point INTC had been above 120 for over 2 months. The actual split had to wait at least until the AGM on 5/21/97 for an increase in the amount of authorized common stock to 4.5 billion shares.

With 1.66 billion shares currently outstanding, INTC could announce a 2:1 split, but it would almost certainly come with an earnings report, and it hasn't.

IMO a split now would be premature since the share price needs to maintain 120+ for a month or two at least, and it's only been there a week or two. Looks like we'll have to wait for the Q2 earnings in April, but if the stock price holds over 110-120, it's a virtual certainty to occur then.

David Taylor.

IVAN1 - Re: "INTC Stock split??? Any thoughts? "

If Intel's stock keeps going up, it will eventually split.

Be patient.
