To All,

As we ponder the insanity of the internutt stocks and watch gold get hammered by the concerted efforts of the Fed, Goldman Sachs and others, it might come as no surprise that the baseball that Mark McGwire hit over the fence for his record setting 70th home run this year was auctioned off this evening for 2.7 million dollars......I'm a baseball fan...but.... its just a baseball....7 dollars piece of rawhide.....add some nostalgic value to be sure.....but come on........personally rooting for Sammy Sosa to hit 71 next year.........

Hi lorne. Never meant to leave the impression that gold is dead ( although T553, who's opinion I highly regard did). It's just difficult to hear and read analysts talk about the three point rise in the U.S. $ today as the cause of the $5.00 fall in the pog. Where was this relationship when the dollar fell 35 points? It seems more akin to the shell game than the movement of free markets. Alas, I'm a committed goldbug. Well, at least 15% of my portfolio : - )

Regards,

Alex
