re Post on biotechs
my pleasure--you see I had seen a Lehman
report last fall giving a list of small and micro
cap biotechs which were trading near book...and so
perhaps a bargain. One stock on that list which
caught my eye was hysq. Back in November Popular
Science did an article on gene chip technology, the
article summarized work being done by Affymetrix, the
Argonne National Laboratory with Russian Academy of Science,
Hyseq, Incyte Pharmaceuticals, Nanogen, and the Oak Ridge
National Laboratory. It is a good one to keep in the back
of your head in case you're at the library and need something
to read.

My guess is that INCY and AFFX are running away with things
...you may remember seeing claims from Hyseq...and recently
by Curagen:
biz.yahoo.com
(CuraGen Announces Discovery of over 60,000 cSNPs)

...well, these two stocks in particular have not done too
much lately, in fact about the only thing you will see in
the crgn stock price is a quick spike on that polymorphism PR.

Gettin back to hysq...note that the "Affymetrix sued by Hyseq"
thread has been quiet since September, and the regular HYSQ
thread is pretty quiet too--the last message on there worth
reading is linked here:
Message 5834505
and another post to read from the Dr.
Message 4874891

Still, I'm keeping an eye on these guys, affx and incy
don't fit the type of investment I like right now (dirt
cheap) but if we saw a big correction in the market in
general, I'd probably shop there instead of the others
I've given.

I may change my mind about hysq or crgn, but nobody has
convinced me yet, and I just sorta decided to ignore this
subsector of biotech...and it seems that lately everybody
is getting into the act, PKN, Hoechst and the big cap bios
of course too...bioinformatics is the keyword if you want
to do word searches etc.

Next topic...H&Q Wednesday, these are the symbols I'll
probaby watch...see if they do anything after presentations:
IMNX, TGEN, SUGN, GZTC, ELN--that list could be longer, but
these are the only things that interest me. There was not
much action on after today's presentations however...glfd
was the only one of which I had a mental note to watch that
rallied a bit...so I am not expecting too much on Wednesday.
