ZP, you make a good case for lots of HDD space--I bet you would use that 17 gigs soon enough. I don't tend to store lots of images.

As for the 80/50 pin issue, these are good questions, and I don't have good answers. I seem to recall something in a Maxtor PR about it that seemed like a reasonable transition step, but I don't recall what it was. If you find out, I'd certainly be interested.
