<<Barring a Brazilian melt-down of the market, INTC should have a glorious next few months. >>

Unfortunately, that is exactly what Brazil is trying to do. Brazil last night tried to weaken their currency slowly, and that will not work well. The president of the Brazilian central bank resigned, and it is quite possible that the Brazilian stock market will not open today (there is a 10% limit down).

The S&P is down 19, the NASDAQ down 33 (actually even more, since there are offers below the market but no bids right now). INTC still trading well in Europe (up 5 euros), so it should be quite a battle today between the immovable object (Intel earnings) and the irresistible force (Brazil). (Which reminds me of that SI cover about 17 years ago with OU and Neb on the cover, but that is another story.)
