The Armonk, N.Y.-based computer maker is also carrying forward an additional $1.115 billion in previously registered securities, thereby making the total registration worth up to $5.115 billion. Net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include the repayment of debt, investments in or extensions of credit to subsidiaries, redemption of preferred stock or the financing of possible acquisitions or business expansion. ================================================================== Will IBM make an offer for SUN?
