benny,

My comments were not immediate emotions. They were well-considered. I began to be suspicious of management with the ramming through of the $100 million "bake sale" in June. Shortly thereafter, Terry Kennedy's publicizing of his problems with NBase's customer support really got my attention (this eventually led me to conclude that MRVC has some real structural problems that will not do in the dreamt of carrier-class business). The post that I referred you to was two months after my exit from MRVC and by then I had regained my sense of humor. And, as we know, good humor always has a bit of truth.

One of the oft complained about items on message boards is the poster who is perceived as being too positive or too negative. Such posters are accused of trying to encourage buying or selling of stocks, as if otherwise opinionated posting would have any appreciable effect on the price, short or long-term. (I do agree, however, that malicious posting in force, accusing a management of cooking the books and other slanders, indeed can affect price.) It must be said, benny, that you have been accused of consistently beating the drum of optimism on behalf of MRVC. You accuse roktar of pessimism but try to make a distinction between the two of you by saying that you are still a shareholder and he isn't and that perhaps he wants to depress the price of MRVC so he can get back in. Yada, blah, ha-ha. Let's sit up and be mature about this, or, at least intellectually honest.

First, roktar's opinion should be taken for what it is. Second, roktar reports what he hears (from "Barney") and adds the usual disclaimers. While roktar does give opinions on fundamentals, he also balances that with his considered opinions as to MRVC's ongoing technical situation (pricewise). roktar has never been, IMO, dishonest about anything. I really don't think roktar has to own a position in MRVC to comment on the company. He has not so much blasted the company as made pertinent observations that many people might find useful. I happen to agree that MRVC management has very serious problems and I could not recommend this company as an investment to anyone but the most hardened casino patron. I don't pound that opinion home every chance I get because I'm not reporting anything new to others via postings. roktar reports his ongoing items fairly regularly and so it is that he balances his posts with his caveats. It's the nature of the beast.

Message boards offer a unique way of working out, in our minds, many well-considered ideas about investing, especially with particular companies. I find it fascinating to be able to watch, over a period of many months, even years, a given investor's opinions about a particular stock. I don't care if they own the stock or not.
I find value in seeing how other posters' opinions evolve as circumstances change. If you can't see the long-run value of this, I'm sure that others do. I hope that you salvage something more with this stock than I did and go on to better things in the future, benny.

Respectfully,
CF Rebel

Benny, let's look way ahead...

I think CFRebel has covered my sentiments about your last post- except I am still holding half my stake.

I propose that MRVC is not the company I bought. The company I bought had those many quarters of not dispointing on revinues. They were out front in the hot buzzword "gigabit ethernet." They were a micro company, growing quickly to prominence (at least in market cap!)

Much of that is gone now. They still have Noam, who I think is leading the company in a promising direction. Getting mired in low margin stuff is not any good for MRVC.

So- let's start beating the bushes and see what we find. Here is my first offering:

juniper.net

I'm reading this stuff over, because it is relevant to where Noam wants to get to.

Best wishes, buddy
