Nice ones you bought an held! I have my share of them as well - and keep some of it to play around with. However, I don't have too much faith in the long term viability of these internet stock valuations. I think ecommerce will grow rapidly and then pretty much stagnate for a long time. Take TV shopping and catalog buying - so much promise, such little performance. Not that I don't think ecommerce doesn't have a TON of more potential than those channels - however, I think the opportunity is more to do with bringing in operational efficiencies like Supply Chain Management, and Business to Business selling rather than to individuals. After a certain stage, you cannot duplicate the in-person shopping experience over the screen. Right now, people are relatively price insensitive, and are prepared to buy big brands over the internet coz. they are cash rich. But when we go into a recession, they will start getting out of their seats, turning their computers off to save electricity costs, and go out to the malls to look for deals.

With IDT, if they are looking to make some announcemts about the internet, that's awesome. I'll sell when it spikes. However, even with any of their products making it to the internet, I cannot see the long term business potential. The big guys are just too strong and powerful and are actually moving rather quickly. They will crush IDT who's only value proposition is PRICE. No one makes calls from their computer, and it will most probably never catch on. I guess only time will tell if I'm right or wrong.

If you're looking for some awesome values in this sector, check out RCNC (buy at below 20), IIXC - anything in the upper 20s, and NXLK - let the drop quite a bit more and then buy. Of the several hundreds of CLECs, RCNC and NXLK are going to be big winners - RCNC, coz. they are significantly owned by LVLT and also have a great business plan and NXLK coz. they got great management and know their stuff - the very same management which was resposible for building McCaw.

By the way, what type of a doctor are you? I went to business school in Chicago (on the south side) and really miss the place. NJ is a dump! :)
