Bingo Dave. You summed it quite well. Thats why I dumped all my CSCO yesterday at 106 5/8. Song and dance days are over for CSCO as it now has to really prove its salt in the telecom market which represents growth going forward not the enterprise sector.
Aint gonna be easy with the competition now having the best products AND the smooth silky tongue.

It's likely going to take Lucent a long time to digest Ascend. Integration and cultural problems abound, and the bigger the acquisition the longer it takes and the more likely it is to fail. Will the really smart people, the ones accustomed to fat stock options stay with Lucent? High tech companies that avoid these problems generally have reaped the biggest rewards from acquisitions. Northern Telecom is just now starting to get some benefit from Bay.
