That is an incredible suggestion. It never even crossed my mind, but it makes sense. People donate stock shares all the time; especially towards the end of the year.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you deduct off of your taxes the amount you paid for the shares instead of the current price? It would be a smart move to donate 2000 shares of a stock you paid $7 for & deduct $14,000 in charitble gifts...especially if that stock happens to be sitting at 1 when you do it.

Wonder why anyone would have to file to sell 2000 shares?

Anyway, it's no biggie. Someone just suggested I post it here when I mentioned seeing it.
