Break, Break, new subject,
Does anyone know what Nextel is doing about Y2K? This is not a trivial question. Phone switch systems are one of the more vulnerable points in our infrastructure. And the power to keep the network up.

My full time job now is working on Y2K for the US Navy. Although I won't comment on too many specifics other than we are working extremely hard and making a lot of progress, if Nextel can certify Y2K compliance before peers, that could make a bunch of hay.

Hey Nexteller's out there. I know you're reading this. I searched the Nextel website and found "0" matches for Y2K.

Anyone else know anything? Do I need to call the company?

Kevin

"- new phone with data coming this spring."

Will the PC/data link require new phones? I was hoping that I would be able to use my I1000, with some type of cable connection and new software for data. Do you have a guesstimate as to the speed and pricing policy for the the data service?
