Why AMZN may NEVER make a profit: Buy.com

I agree with the longs who say that AMZN must go into AMZN branded products to make margins. The question is what? AMZN coffee mugs? The problem is AMZN is not a manufacturer nor a product development company with artists and engineers toiling away in some think tank. It is a middleman, plain and simple. The Net KILLS middlemen. Take a look at Buy.com's strategy to take over Web retailing. The margins may be low but they will survive and may prevent AMZN from ever making a penny. Fortune has a nice article on Buy.com here. Any comments Longs? Please don't give me the "branding" line. No one heard of AMZN 2 years ago, so don't count out Buy.com. Quote from article "At this pace Blum believes Buy.com can break Compaq's first-year sales record of $111 million, making it the fastest-growing company in U.S. history.". I have a feeling we will be hearing a lot more from this AMZN killer.
