Due to the sub $500 effect, you will see the profit margin for box makers, CPU manufacturers shrink, but the units will be increased dramatically. Due to the sub $500 effect, many low income families will have a chance to benefit from the IT era.
This also open a door for many families in the world who can not affor PCs when the price is still over $1500. Besides , now I am planing to buy additional pcs for my family, perhaps each child will own one PC of his own. With the price of pc hitting
below $500, and pretty soon below $300, there is less chance for the Network computers to win the market from PCs. Why should I save $20 or $40 dollars to sacrifice the power of PC for a less powerful NC ?
