Fearless prognostications seem about to come true: May 12, 1997 post 3100 Scott Olsen said a LU buyout of ASND would occur after the dust had settled from the ASND-Cascade merger (or Nortel might do it). He was responding to the post the day before by ioioioi that LU would buy the companies (post 3088). Antedating both of those (he said modestly) are 2 of my posts - #254 7/17/96 stating that pairing CSCC and ASND into a single company would be a killer deal - a real end-to-end solution would result, making great inroads against CSCO. And 2 months later, post #847, I said my wildest dream would be a merger of CSCC and ASND...and of course without the ATM and FR products developed by CSCC there'd be no deal with LU today. Sorry for the crowing but I did give recognition to Scott and ioioioi for their perceptive posts made more than a year and a half ago. Dee Jay
