Interesting side note:

Since 1/4/99, the number of EBAY auctions is down 1.4% (1,307K to 1,289K), while yahoo auctions are up 8.4% (100K to 108K+). Granted, yahoo is still insignificant, but it continues to grow, and as it gets larger it becomes a more credible alternative to EBAY. If yahoo continues growing rapidly, I can see it hitting 250,000 auctions by end of quarter. At this point, yahoo growth will come at the significant expense of EBAY.
