Valeri No I am not a U.S. citizen , I am a Canadian resident in Vancouver for the last 30 yrs. but originally from London , England . Your question regarding the effect of U.S. taxes should be addressed by one of our American friends . Some factors to consider on the market though :- The Dow utilities is still signalling low interest rates . Historically two other factors are positive , the prepresidential year has been with very few exceptions a good year for equities as also the 9th year of a decade has been . The SOX index has risen more strongly since oct '98 than any previous year , signalling the semiconductor market is going to benefit from the Y2K problem. Brian
