NEWS!!! Chronicle Communications Acquires Bartow Communications CAIRO, Ga., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Chronicle Communications Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CRNC - news) CEO, John V. Whitman Jr., announced today that it has acquired Bartow Communications of Rockville, Maryland. Bartow began operations in November of 1992 and had unaudited revenues of $408,000 in 1998. The company is profitable. Bartow Communications was acquired for $2,000 in cash and 410,000 common stock purchase options exercisable at .25 per share for five years from the acquisition date. Bartow has liabilities of approximately $200,000. Bartow Communications publishes ''The Register'' and is the only comprehensive directory of new home builders' inventory homes available in the greater Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. The Register is published 23 times per year with separate editions for Maryland and for Virginia. The company recently entered into a joint arrangement to supply the local Multiple Listing Service (Metropolitan Regional Information Systems) with data on every new home community in the surrounding 6-state area. The company has a direct mail division which develops mailing lists to be used in the building/construction industries.
