Hello Preston,

With permission from Chartcraft/Investors Intelligence, here's a dab of their daily report:

SENTIMENT INDEX 1/15/99 1/8/99
% of Advisors Bullish 60.0 58.3
% of Advisors Bearish 30.0 30.0
% of Advisors Correction 10.0 11.7

The bulls reading of 60% was last hit in Jan of 92. Have to go all the way back to Aug of 87 to find more bulls when they had 60.8%. But, there are still a healthy amount of bears.

A few of the important bullish %'s as follows:

1/12/99 1/5/99
% NYSE > 10 Week MA 51.84 59.64 Bear Alert
% OPTs > 10 Week MA 52.39 52.07 Bull Confirm
NYSE Bullish % 58.4 56.0 Bull Confirm
OPT Stocks Bullish % 66.9 62.2 Bull Confirm

Although the NYSEBP has reversed back up to Bull Confirmed, we all know that field position is not real great. In addition, the NYSE 10 Week MA has reversed back down, so it is diverging with the NYSE Hi/Lo, which is overbought at 76.9 (72.1 last week). Long term bullish with the short term now somewhat bearish and overbought.

Take care,

Eric
