The nature of the world is to make things that would corrupt an otherwise responsible and decent path in life seem interesting and attractive as a test of our character. Straying from a responsible and decent path generally involves betrayal and causes pain, suffering, and regret by the primary actor and misery in the lives of the other significant people effected.
