Incidentally, I remember hearing a well respected economist stating that the U.S. consumer was totally "debted out", about two years ago. Had a whole bunch of stats to prove it too, which were very convincing even back then. Probably she had not yet received her invitation to partake of a 125% household mortgage. (g)
