John,

I think the bounce off the lows this morning is testiment
to the power of the current bull trend. I hope it continues.

Johnd, You made another good move. Congrats. I think there is no way this stock goes below 135 by Friday. I keep mentioning that INTEL is doing great with great earnings---If we don't see a big move by noon Friday---I think there will be huge move late afternoon. I don't know what the short position in this stock is but I bet it is a lot.

For the first time in years, I actually sold off stock in a downturn and converted to cash. I regret it but I have too much in Feb options to be holding stock. Sold a lot of CSCO and MSFT stock. I think I will ride out the Januarys to expiry and may excercise them if the stock makes a move(which i hope happens)

You should build a core position in Microsoft, and every year add 25% of your core holding through leaps , at least two and half years leap with stock price at least $50
off your strike price. Use only 1% of your money to play with the short term option from time to time. If you lose in short term option trading, no big deal at all.

johnd,i finally decided to just exercise a truck load of long term leaps that finally expire today. i have to start my long term ownerhip on these all over again. if i had sold them i would have had the long term cap gains.
question ...can any one answer ?
i have covered called on some other company. yet my brokerage has not called me to take them away. they are now pretty deep and how long should they have to take them away from me? if they expire today should they not tell me by today?
