I remember the game we used to play where we all ran round the chairs and when the music stopped someone was out...and one chair was taken away.

The game has changed. Now I buy property and try to sell it to someone else at a higher price; and so on it gets passed around the circle. A lot of fun for those that know the game; misery for those that don't.

So as the market stands on fewer and fewer legs...what happens when those legs get kicked out from under?

I think the PRO was correct in stating that there were opportunities; but I think we must remember the fact that there are also opportunities to be crushed and burnt. In this I appreciate Poet's warning. It is uncomfortable harvesting coconuts in a forest fire. For those that can do it (or for those that must), all power to you!

In the longer term we have people like Yardeni (strange but not a flake) predicting recession as Y2K brings out the irrational in people. In the short term we have a market with no breadth balancing on hollow legs.

Start the music and lets kick out the chairs. Make money and have fun...and don't forget to look up once in awhile...
