Steve, Thanks for the post. The following is the news release. I found, " subject to certain conditions, one of which gives TVI the option to acquire Amateur Sports Group," to be interesting. Regards, Rick -------------------------------------------------------------------- News January 13, 1999 13:30 TVI Corporation Announces Distribution Agreement GLENN DALE, Md., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- TVI Corporation announced today that it has completed an Agreement with Amateur Sports Group, Inc. (ASGI) providing for the marketing and distribution of its Hospitality and Promotional Products in the US. The Agreement grants exclusive marketing rights, subject to certain conditions, one of which gives TVI the option to acquire Amateur Sports Group. Amateur Sports Group is a private company headquartered in Millersville, Maryland. Under the able leadership of its two principals, Scott Westcoat and Jay Goldstein, it has achieved continuing success in outdoor event management, promotion and marketing. Initially specializing in sports events, ASGI has continually expanded its marketing efforts to include a variety of outdoor entertainment events. These efforts have led to a number of relationships with major corporations such as McDonald's, PepsiCola, and Budweiser. ASGI has placed an initial order for two large Hospitality Shelters for use by DC United, winner in 1997 and runner-up in 1998 of the US soccer championship. Allen Bender, president of TVI, expressed his pleasure with the arrangement. He noted that the two companies had been working together for the past year, and that he had been impressed with the skills and accomplishments of ASGI. "They have developed innovative ideas and techniques for product and image promotion in a variety of venues," he said. "Our products are new and different, and will benefit from their fresh and innovative approaches." The Hospitality and Promotion line includes a number of multi-purpose tents and structures designed for both functionality and promotional use. The line includes a variety of portable billboards and portable signs, all of which may be custom designed. The tents, billboards, and signs all employ an articulating frame which enables a completely finished product to be erected almost instantly, and to be collapsed into a very small package for transport and storage. Patent applications have been submitted for all product categories and are currently pending. The Company noted that the product line is consistent with its planned product diversification, and that the Agreement is consistent with its strategy of increased priority for marketing efforts in 1999 SOURCE TVI Corporation /CONTACT: Allen Bender of TVI Corporation, 301-352-8800/ (TVIN)
