A friend of mine hasnt been able to get into e-trade for a single morning this week. And last night e-trade displayed a penny stock she holds as a $15. stock (this wasnt a decimal point error, the stock was .06 or something) so her account value was grossly overvalued. E-trade just cant handle these volumes it seems.

Check referrals on suretrade. I've been with them for a year, without a problem. But maybe someone else has had problems which I haven't heard about. But just like with any online broker - it's a good idea to place your bets during the off-peak hours. But even at peak times on busy days, my time from pointing to the site to confirmation of my order placement has never exceeded 5 minutes. All trades have been executed within a minute, except thinly traded micro-caps which have taken up to 10 minutes. Cheap, too. Generally 7.95/trade. But if you need help, the wait can be 10-15 minutes to get a broker. But that never bothers me, since I have never needed to talk to a broker. Christopher
