Poet,

I respectfully disagree with your comment as it relates to this thread.

We all love for others to come in and make constructive suggestions. Scott (LastShadow) encourages all to post watch lists, suggestions, etc. I have personally seen a lot of "newcomers" come on and make good comments, etc.

but, as you know, there is on occasion a "hype" post, and that is what incurs our wrath, especially the bb stocks. Scott has already apologized for what may have appeared to have been an intolerant remark to a poster who he felt was hyping because he was on one too many thread.

Personally, I think it is bogus for posts to multiple threads, but that should in no way, shape or manner be construed as our being "elitist"

We welcome all, just leave the hype at the door.

And I say all of this kindly, as your remarks too were conveyed with kindness and concern, and I appreciate your viewpoint, although I don't necessarily agree.

David

I think Poet has a valuable point. My concern isn't for the regulars, but for all the lurkers who email or pm me all the time about those stocks posted.

I'd like to hear what the thread thinks the best way to deal with it is. Ignore it? Add to our considerable research by looking at all of them (I only glance at the chart before I post)? Send them all over to Trader J's thread (just kidding)?

Poet...

I don't think we are motivated to discredit posters
just because they aren't regular posters on this thread.
We are just a little skeptical when someone posts the
same or similar message to several threads about the
same stock. When that does happen, at least one of us
usually will point out that the message may have been
posted to numerous threads just so that anyone who reads
this thread can be aware that it may be hype.

Having said that, I agree that this can have the appearance
of exclusivity. However, it is just a fence we have to straddle
sometimes.

Tom

Poet and all,
I don't post everyday, I wouldn't consider myself a regular, especially recently, as I've toned down my trading. I have always been warmly received here on the thread, perhaps it's how the stock pick is presented that effects the readers. If it's presented as a hypester, it will be received that way.

I recall reading Tim Luke's thread and folks getting upset that he had sold out and he was hyping. I never felt that and so now he has a thread that is No hand holding just picks, something like that. really too many messages in a day for me to follow.

I am suggesting that there are other places to post and if you're posting out of sincere helpful nature, then introduce yourself because you may be new and unknown. As far as a club goes, I've seen quite a few additions come in and add some great info and picks in the last few months so it is not restricted at all.

Good luck to all. Happy trading!

I see Apple beat estimates handily, looking good.

Aw, your just sore that I advised you to get out of GNET $100,000 early. <G>

I first started posting on this thread last summer, mostly questions concerning gap stratagies, and then posts to share my learning experiences. In all the time I've hung out here, Scott has always handled multiple posts in the same way. He usually lists how many boards the person has posted to and asks them to take us off their mailing list. If someone chooses to keep on being a pest (no names here, mind you, but you NUOA who I mean), then they're fair targets for our infantile wit.

Bear in mind that our esteemed "club member" Mr. Kim only started posting here around November (I think). It only took about two picks for everyone to say "Hey, this guy is making us money".

If it seems that the number of those posts has increased of late, I suspect that it's because more people have bookmarked the thread, and consequently more junk mail gets sent.

Any thread that wants to maintain the quality of it's postings, and therefore be of any value to it's readers must have some kind of policy towards spammers. Here's one from Rande Is Home:

If any are merely on the FISHING thread to hype their OTC du jour, then we will begin to take notes and keep score of results of the picks presented here. This way everyone gets a reputation.

As you can see, I will not stand for nonsense here. It is HARD to make money on the stock market and we do not need any more distractions than we already have.

Sorry if this offends anyone. . .but I set the ground rules in the thread header.

Thanks,

Rande Is

Even though I don't agree with your perception of what's going on here, I'm glad you felt that you could make the criticsm.
