RE. shorten the put

Not sure about the terminology of "shorten" the put?

If you had meant "short" the put, then it's the same thing as I just said: put selling.

PS: currently have large short positions of Jan 90p and Jan 105c (in addition to my core holding of RMBS commons); both options are expected to expire worthless this Saturday. A "spread" play seems most profitable in the current investment.
