Ian, Re: "In a research
note, NationsBanc analysts said LSI's mass storage business experienced
stronger sales in the December quarter and that the overall strength in the
semiconductor industry gave the company a push toward a more positive
outlook."

Looks like Symbios is turning out to be a good purchase for LSI. There is no other part of LSI they could be referring to here as mass storage than Symbios, is there?

I believe that Montgomery is the same one who called the LSI downturn ahead of everyone else last July. I recall something about them predicting revenue shortfall, and getting ridiculed. Then it happened just like they called it.

If this is so, this is an upgrade that might actually mean something! Let's hope so.

Another upgrade to BUY according to Paul Kangas on NBR last night.

LSI Logic (NYSE:LSI) was up 2 1/2 points. Montgomery Securities and Gerard Klauer Brokerages both upgraded it from "hold" to "buy."
