He almost admitted, then recanted. You bet they correspond on a daily basis. Any more innuendo, Alan? Anyway, on the "politics of personal destruction" front, the anti-Clinton industry has had a lot longer run than Larry Flynt. You have heard of the admirable Dick Scaife, haven't you? Of course, Scaife, like all the moralists here, is only interested in "truth and justice". He's a hero, like Linda "I am you!" Tripp. Politics never enters into it.

alan, I just stumbled on this transcript of a Larry King / Barr / Flynt interview. Is this what you were talking about? If so, Flynt's "almost" admission of collusion seems somewhat exaggerated. Perhaps you were hearing what you wanted to hear?

KING: What do you make, Larry, of what Bob Barr
said tonight of a connection between you and Mr.
Carville, and -- not directly you to Clinton, but if it
smells like smoke, there's a fire?

FLYNT: The only way they can connect me to
Clinton is I voted for him twice...

KING: How about Carville?

FLYNT: ... in '92 and '94.

KING: '96.

FLYNT: Well, James and I were friends obviously;
we made the movie "The People Versus Larry Flynt"
together. But I've never discussed what I'm doing
here with James in any manner. And at the press
conference that was held yesterday, one of the
reasons why I hesitated when I was asked about our
investigators -- did they have any contacts in the
White House? You know, quite frankly, I do not
know the answer to that question, so I did not
answer it for that specific reason.

KING: In other words they might have worked for
the White House?

FLYNT: But I called them today, and they said they
were not working with anyone in the White House.

KING: All right. So you spoke to the detectives
today who worked on this and other matters for you,
and they did not work for the White House.

FLYNT: Exactly.
