Tom,

I'm with you completely up until here: "Though I guess that does raise the question of whether the government should do something about people who consider murder (among other things) moral." Seems non-sequitor to me. Murder is covered by law no matter what the murderer considers it.

So, is this situation analogous to abortion and shouldn't the same logic apply?

Stop being so wishy-washy, The government's ONLY valid purpose is to protect individual rights and property rights. Period.
