I agree, Don't think the sky's falling. Let's see, they missed the estimate by 3 cents. That equals $4.44 million on 148 million shares after tax. Pre-tax (40% tax) $7.4 million. On 5.5 million units that's $1.35/unit. Who really thinks Intel can continue to "price match" in the low end market (Celeron - which you can overclock) and continue selling their high ends with big margins ? There aren't that many morons willing to pay the different. What's going to happen to INTC's margins ? These guys made big inroads (unit wise). The sky ain't falling.

Scumbria, <What is everybody whining about? $0.03 is meaningless. > Meaningless? It's a 17% earnings miss in a quarter that was suppose to have upside surprise. It's also much much much more than they have earned in the last 12 quarters combined. Three cents is a mountain of cash to AMD. When will people learn that AMD is a stock for traders and suckers. Congratulations to the traders who rode the last wave of hype upward. To those who continue to believe in AMD's long term prospects, I suggest you wake up. BTW, I heard that Jerry is thinking about changing AMD's earnings moniker from "just wait until next quarter" to "just wait" <g>. FF
