Does anybody know why MXIM sailed up over 6 points today? Can't seem to find anything on it.

They're fascinated with 71 today, dunno why. Maybe just burning the last few scraps of option premium while the Shareholders' Meeting is going on. If you're long and want to cover yourself for a manic move either way on post-meeting news/manipulation, you can sell Feb 65 calls on it for 9 3/4 or 10 and buy double the number of Jan 75 calls, good for two more days, for 1/2. Anything above 75 and the extra ration of 75's start making you money, otherwise you have covered yourself for anything down to 65 by Feb expiration.
