In the e-commerce arena, Tribune already has deals with Open Market (OMKT), a maker of electronic-commerce software for servers; Peapod (PPOD), an online retail grocer; and CheckFree (CKFR), which specializes in financial services, mostly on the institutional side. CheckFree's software also allows consumers to write checks and carry out other transactions electronically

...Oleszczuk wouldn't name names -- "One of the keys to having a good reputation is playing things close to the vest," he said -- but he said the 150-year-old company will do one deal "in the digital television arena," one in the field of electronic educational products and "another e-commerce transaction."...

I like the part where it calls CKFR the "overlooked net play of the future."

But here's a caution -- the same guy also rates DLIA a strong buy. That's the teenybopper clothing store chain that had a huge runup in share price when it announced it would start selling its nose rings and girl's combat boots on the web. Can you imagine teenage girls buying much clothing by computer? Not me. I shorted DLIA.

Anyway -- glad to have even a poor analyst touting CKFR. As they used to say back in Indiana (just south of Michigan, Tom): "Even a bling hog finds an acorn ONCE in a while."
