The "lot longer run" predates the Lewinsky matter, Alan, by about 5 years. Remember Whitewater? Starr sort of forgot, when he couldn't coerce anybody to pin it all on Clinton, but on the innuendo front it still has currency. I think Jerry Falwell used to sell a "who killed Vince Foster" video. There's a lot more to the anti-Clinton industry than the Starr inquisition.

The prosecutors will demonstrate, with success, that had the DNA not been found, Lewinsky's credibility would have been utterly destroyed. - Clinton had already planted the seeds of this strategy by describing Lewinsky as a stalker to his aides. - Before the DNA episode, stories already questioning her mental stability. This is where the Gracens, Brownings, Jones, and Broadricks of this world come into play, and the role played by Lenzner and Co., intimidation, and physical threats are finally exposed to the general public. You don't believe this story ? Let's have witnesses. Either Clinton resigns before the witnesses are brought in, or he fights and looses.
