marc--

i think g.lite is a red herring, and if memory serves TXN will have a g.lite implementation of the C6 soon...WSTL can use that for its g.lite modems.

the best part about it all is that i have heard NOTHING about TXN going after AWRE for patent violation. AWREs much vaunted (and ostensibly the reason for the price increase) IP is an IMPLEMENTATION of DMT that allows for no splitter and a lower throughput. the question, at least for me, is how long it takes TXN to gets its legal team into action should AWRE prove very profitable (a notion about which i am very doubtful).

now, what i was saying about the last message (the cbs report):

1) the reporter is a moron, or at the very least did not properly research his piece. i am inclined to believe this since it is common not only for people reporting on technology to get confused over products, but over companies as well.

or

2) BEL DMT has been decided...in favor of AWRE...and BEL just hasnt made the announcement. do i think WSTL will be dropped in this event? no. deployment is well under way and i think they will stick with WSTL. however, an AWRE BEL DMT win means WSTL is not going to get a thing after BEL decides to migrate to DMT alone. the perception, correct i think, would be that while WSTL is deploying now, they wont be in the future (IF WSTL loses BEL DMT).

good luck to all,
trey

marc, since you asked.

My opinion only & some is based on the Dr. posts so keep that in mind.

Bell DMT is a condition of the P.C. headed down the pike.
