Canada Stockwatch gives free downloads with a subscription. The last 7 days of data on all stocks is free and you can download 10 years of data for 100 stocks with the trader account.

They have historical data on Canadian options, Canadian and US stocks, indexes and some futures.

I personally use Stockwiz for Canadian stocks and indexes since I download ever stock from the TSE and VSE and all indexes. I need this data so I can perform market scan for given indicators and patterns (Metastock 6.5). However I often use Canada stockwatch for options downloads.

I have also tried Quote.com, Prohet and Canstock for Canadian quotes but was not pleased with any of the services. Stockwiz is mediocure and does not compare to US data providers such as QP2 but it works all right for now.

For anyone interested I use Stockwiz light to download all the data files. I then export these files as prn files to three folders. One containing all the indexes, one containing all TSE stocks and one with VSE stocks. I then use the downloader to convert each prn file to metastock format. From start to finish the whole process takes me about 8-10 minutes to get all the data up and running in Metastock.

Best Regards
