Rick,

Sorry it took so long to reply, but I have been busy.

My first react was negative. Having time to digest the announcement I am not as negative.

As far as I know, Dragon is basically a dictation type software. MagicTalk is a VUI platform. I believe I read somewhere that GMGC could incorporate more than one SR company due to the scalability of GMGC's platform (NOC). Since I am not a tech weenie, I can't say exactly what Dragon would bring to the table (to AOL) with only SR. It would appear to me that there is a need for a VUI before people could take advantage of accessing AOL over the phone.

An example is the AutoPC. I believe LHSPF provides the speech recognition for the AutoPC, but it is MagicTalk that will provide the platform to access MSN Sidewalk portal.

I believe Mark Oliver tried the Dragon system (software) out last year so he may be able to provide more insight into the capabilities of Dragon's SR.

Wishful thinking would be for GMGC to provide that platform for AOL. GMGC's purchase of NetTalk late last year should have provided the front end of the complete system to access the web through voice activation. So the question again is, how will Dragon enable users to access AOL without integrating the other technology necessary to have voice access to the web.

If there is anyone out there that wants to question my logic, please feel free to make corrects:)

Take care,
Kurt
