Nothing to brag about today..
One decent trade in NETG..

In the long term category..I
like the internet enabled transaction
processors..if there is going to be all
this e-commerce going on..someone is
going to have to process the payments..
be they check or credit card or something
else..I'm in CKFR and PTI which both went up
+9% today..didn't make up for loses elsewhere
in the portfolio though..these two stocks
CKFR and PTI rarely put two days in a row together..
but I would recommend that those of you with a long
term view ie. years and the internet space in
particular look at these issues..

CKFR = Checkfree = leader in EBPP
PTI = Paymentech = 3rd largest credit card processor

Jim in CT..

First off to Poet please except my sincere apologys!,Its so hard to get up in the morning to a stock portfolio that is down 15k you tend to take it out on everyone around you!
I actually went away from the computer & took a break away,by going away for the day I realized a $5250 profit on my BGEN options.I am gradually trying to wean myself away from options, but is so hard to do so when you hear rumor of a company posting solid earnings reports by week end.I have made the most money in options the last week leading up to option expirations.I will no doubt see what bgen says on there earnings & see if they announce a 2 for 1 ,if they do I will take this option into the last day.
Also of some interest was CIENA today as it rocketed 2 3/4 of which I am holding a small position .As for NAVR here is a post I gleaned from another thread check it out!http://messages.yahoo.com/bbs?action=m&board=yahoo.2a.06.7077803&topicid=0m2&msgid=77jh68$ca2$1@m2.yahoo.com

Sorry all & good luck tommorrow

PS THE MICHEAL JORDAN THING WAS A LITTLE BIT OVERDONE DONT YOU THINK

REGARDS THE PRO

Trader J,

I held everything and actually bought a bunch of DELL. Not quite as low as I would have liked but @ 77 3/16. This is a short lived drop. IMO

Washinton heh, How about getting me a Griffy signed
baseball. Who do you want from Yankees or that other
NY team we have that I can't remember their name....
Only kidding...
Navr this is one stock I don't want to take a chance
of being completely out of. Bought @ 16 5/16 today and
held. Bought some and sold some in am. I will always try
to keep a core positon in at all times......If I remember
correctly, you were buying and sell in the 7 or 8 dollar
range. A core position held then would be a nice double
now. How much was DBCC in middle of Nov. $5.00 plus and
what was it the other day? $50.00. not bad for 6 weeks...
Navr held up very good today. a little trip to 11 and
back to 15-16 range with out any news announcements.
I'm sure that NAVR is watching this IPO of MKTW like
a hawk and maybe after the IPO of MKTW comes out we
may get some news. What is that saying??? Strike while
the iron is hot....anyway lets hope for a successful IPO
today or tomorrow....OH, look again at introday charts
of each from WED side by side.

Hi TJ,

Really enjoy the thread! What I noticed about yesterday was the tremendous amount of money that moved into U.S. bonds...and how quickly. It just reminds us wee people that they are not at all asleep at the wheel, and the investment community is still multi-tiered. They are ready and able to park their money at a seconds notice. We are not quite so facile. (Sometimes we need to shovel the driveway, or steal a kiss!)

I think that this craze of buying infinitely above book value ought to be accompanied by a great deal of vigilance. The rewards are tremendous right now. The success stories are incredible. Wow! But like all gambling, the risk increases proportionately to the reward!

I am excited, but very cautious about this market--and am not keeping anything overnight. BTW, (I hope this has not been covered), but is everyone aware of E-Trades move toward offering IPO's to the general public. It was in yesterday's National Post (Canada), and I don't have it handy right now.

Apparently, Brazil accounts for 20% of U.S. exports. I wonder what would happen if that Brazilian buying dried up?!

Good trading for everyone today! It will be really interesting to see if DBCC attracts the proportionate exuberance we have come to anticipate...or if there will be a more subdued and careful trading pattern...
