JVC (6792) Maps Out Road To 8% ROE By FY2000

TOKYO (Nikkei)--Victor Co. of Japan Ltd., known as JVC, elaborated Wednesday on its plans for increasing its return on equity to 8% by the end of fiscal 2000.

To achieve the goal, the company will consider streamlining the organizational framework of its headquarters and exiting unprofitable businesses. It will also look into improving the efficiency of its domestic sales structure and shifting more operations overseas.

The company hopes to embark on some of the projects this year.

JVC also said it will direct its resources to four areas: developing digital value-added products, creating new businesses based on integrating software and hardware, constructing new sales systems and cultivating global markets for its strategic products.
