BAC have more exposure to south america than C,
but C dropped much more.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Citigroup has about a $4 Billion exposure. I believe that is over 10% of their equity. Don't under estimate the effect of a default. I'm sure C saw this coming. It's just a matter of how much they could do to prepare for it.
