OT,
Slider, where the h*** are you with 28" of snow - I thought for sure you were a denizen of warmer climes. I'm sitting on about 2 feet myself.

Slider;

You are certainly correct that we are at the mercy of the futures traders. Seems to me that the near-term direction of the OS sector depends upon whether or not the major oil producers make a serious effort to cut production and boost prices since demand is not going to jump anytime soon. If they do so (and the big money will know this BEFORE the fact) -- we will seee a huge rally in the OSX. But if things continue to drift as they have and the industry depression continues and intensifies, new lows are a good bet.

Interesting that US ally (some would say puppet) Saudi Arabia is again the main obstacle to further production cuts.

Looks like we may bounce a little today with crude up 15 cents.

I appreciate very much your running commentary and forecasts. When you mentioned that you sold VTS and several other people also suggested taking profits, it made sense to me because the OSX had run up so far so fast. As a result, I sold most of my stocks including VTS (a third of my investment)at 16 5/8 several days ago and bought it back yesterday at 14 1/2. I'm a long term investor, but don't mind locking in profits on a short-term trade. This is the best investment board I've seen. It has a diversity of information from many knowledgeable people. You are correct that it's each person's responsibility to sift through that information and make their own decisions. Keep up the great postings!
