Good heavens--I am now a babykiller? What I was saying was a refutation of your statement implying there were lines of parents waiting eagerly for all these unwanted babies. You seem to constantly ignore the realities. To most young girls a pregnancy is not a baby. Sad but true. Those who continue with their pregnancy have a much more difficult time giving up the child; they have a fantasy of what having a baby is--a live doll who is theirs alone to love and who will love them. They are completely unprepared for the stress and the fatigue and the demands of parenting and so unfortunately many of their children are the ones who will wind up on welfare or in foster care when this sad person just can't do it. Do you have a cat lady in your town? There is always this person who takes in all the stray cats and kittens because she is saving them, and eventually the humane society has to go in and take away all the sick, underfed, unspayed animals because, while she meant well, she really hadn't thought it through. I was merely saying that your efforts could perhaps be more productive taking care of the already living, breathing babies---maybe some of those you "saved" already through your preaching, whose mothers were turned away by your protest lines and insults in front of the clinic, who tried to do the right thing and who now are in need. Oh, and personally I am against abortion, but I don't feel that I have the right to make that decision for other women. I don't believe it's a decision made lightly and for a group of moralistic, self-righteous men to judge someone when they have no knowledge of what is behind the decision makes me ill. The doctors are not the problem. What good does blowing up a clinic do if you still have women and young girls without resources, without support, without any of the things necessary to raise a child? These are the problems to address, the solutions to provide. WHich brings me to my main point--which you ignored-that murder and violence are unacceptable means of social or moral protest, no matter how strongly you feel about an issue. Period. The hit list, the bombings, are an abomination. And since you have yet to agree with this, I must assume you instead agree with the extremists?
