Corky has mentioned that CCUR can benefit from the Y2K upgrade and remediation process in 1999. The recent focus and funding by the goverment in Y2K compliance projects will likely result in some one time revenue spurts for this year. CCUR has many systems that are in use, but not currently covered by a service contract. While it is up to the company that owns a CCUR or former Harris system to fix the applications that they wrote or bought from other vendors that run on the CCUR or Harris system, the OS source code is held by CCUR, not the customer. While it may be possible to fix the code with an expert in legacy remediation, without the source code, that would be difficult.

What will happen is that they will have to buy from CCUR their Y2K solution which is guaranteed to remedy the problem. THey will give it for free to those under service agreements, but others must pay for the fix. This could result in one time revenues in the millions. While I won't rely on it, this factor is another potnential upside surprise to the 99 earnings.

As for real time, in the last conference call, Corky mentioned the potential for some major break through deals for the romable real time OS. I expect we will here more about this in the conference call in 3 weeks. The funding of Aegis and Y2k remediation can only be viewed as a positive for CCUR.

As for Brazil, I think it will have the same impact on CCUR revenue as Michael Jordan's retirement. Your not happy that it happened, but the impact is superficial or not meaningful. The Knicks are happy, but they just won't say it publicly.
