Hi Bob, My guess as to why they are not just trying to close the valve is that they are concerned about the integrity of the casing. They probably are worried that if they close the valves with no "head" or backpressure on the formation, they'll simply launch the BOP and Diverter Assembly !!. JUST MY GUESS !!! I've never done a plug of this type, Bob. I've worked with snubbing units but again, nothing of the size here (largest in world!!). But, I sure don't like their chances if they don't get it in 1 or 2 tries. Later, grayhairs
