Trader J: Yes, exactly! What moves stocks? Stories and people. These take time usually to do their work. If I know of a certain event that is to take place in 4 weeks that will draw many new investors to the stock, I find it more profitable to ride out the oscillations on a gradually rising slope than to try to guess the market dynamics on a minute by minute basis.

Furthermore, at my old daytrading firm, I can't set sell stops on long positions or buy stops on shorts. I miss being able to do this with my position trading. My new brokerage will let me do this. I can also trust them to work my order like I used to work it through my daytrading firm, even better.
