Perspective last night from the "Petite Trader", a long time Yahoo poster. 1. The debt is large, so large that unless they sell the plant they probably will not have enough $$ to meet the 2/17 deadline with the creditors. 2. Over the past few weeks 2 different groups have bought over 5% respectively of the pref'ds. (making them eligable for big bucks in a bankruptcy). 3. After Disney's fiasco with ABC the Disney board is not going to be looking to take on any white elephants. They are not in that great of shape themselves (Read about their debts and problems). Eisner may be looking, but that is not to say the board is buying. 4. If Disney waited they could pick up the pieces when and where they want to. They are not a printing Co. They are currently having a lot of titles printed themselves through other sources. Eisner said in the Bloomberg piece that they were interested in certain aspects of the GBFE company and certain titles. 5. Even if this is a sure deal, it can be structured so that most of the $$$ goes to the bonds and the prefd's. It is possible and happens regularly that common get left out in the cold on these deals.especially when debt is so high.(Go Look at marvel).
