Well, don't expect to receive an unsolicited offer for a margin account in the mail anytime soon! While you are educating yourself as a trader, don't neglect to look into options. Some kinds of options trading are very risky, but you can do a few things with options that require little risk and can be very lucrative. For instance (without getting into detail, as I'm getting sleepy), you can accomplish a similar effect to short selling by buying puts, with less risk, if you know what you are doing.
